The Opportunity:

We are looking for a Training and Development Specialist to join our family here at Zeal Credit Union. This position will evaluate, coordinate, develop, and implement programs to meet the training and professional development needs of staff.  This person should be a self-starter with a quick eye and attention to detail. Additionally, the Trainer should be able to manage their time very effectively and be able to multitask.

Duties of the Training and Development Specialist

  • Possess a passionate devotion to providing outstanding and empathetic service to Zeal Credit Union members and fellow employees
  • Exemplify Zeal Credit Union's three pillars: live with character, feel with empathy, act with passion
  • Oversee the development of employee training plans and ongoing annual regulatory training
  • Create, monitor and adhere to the Credit Union training budget
  • Collaborates with team members on projects including process improvement initiatives, new initiatives and training initiatives
  • Monitor and Oversee the Credit Unions Learning Management System
  • Oversee eLearning Course Development and HR video production/editing
  • Coordinate the planning and execution of Credit Union events and meetings
  • Oversee the planning & execution of New Employee Orientation training sessions
  • Actively encourage participation in employee training and maintain employee transcripts
  • Facilitate and/or coordinate training sessions offered to staff
  • Administer the Credit Union's staff enrichment courses
  • Administers and maintains staff recognition programs
  • Coordinate the Credit Union's sponsored activities designed to enhance employee/organization relationships
  • Regular, onsite attendance

Additional Duties                       

  • Perform all other tasks and duties as assigned

Job Qualifications


  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or a related field
  • Minimum 1-3 years' experience as a trainer
  • Outstanding interpersonal and motivational skills
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Resilient attitude towards achieving goals
  • Familiarity with both traditional and modern training methods
  • Experience with Learning Management System administration
  • Experience designing eLearning
  • Knowledge of Adult Learning Theory
  • Experience with the Microsoft Office Suite
  • Teamwork


  • Experience with Adobe Premiere Pro
  • Experience with Adobe Captivate
  • Experience with video equipment and facilitating in house video production
  • Experience maintaining company intranet
